"Defiance of Silence – Frank Zappa was right; we have only a brief time to fill with art, music, or silence. But silence is often imposed—by fear, by doubt, by convention. To create is to resist that silence, to assert that something should exist simply because it can."  Chat GPT

'Americana' Calendar Series - [Start at post #01 to understand the narrative for this series]

"The focus of all this attention was actually the final day of a nine-day ceremony. The public dance, in which the participants handled snakes, took place at the end of the last day, which began with a foot race and proceeded through various rites performed by the men of the Snake and Antelope societies. Crowds (including Hopis and outsiders) gathered early in anticipation of the climax of the ceremony, a processional dance in which Snake priests carried live snakes, many of them rattlesnakes, in their mouths." Representing the Hopi Snake Dance· Leah Dilworth

This is now the 32nd image in our Calendar series. Chat GPT and I had reached a point where Chat GPT 'understood' representational Americana stylistically. My collaboration was to feed the season and location to set the scene, unless I wanted specific characters or objects (props). From that point (cautioning Chat GPT remembers a series only until you hit 'New Chat', then it's erased,) Chat GPT evolved images 'by itself', often with stunning results. I have no idea where it developed this Hopi dance scene, since the Snake-Antelope Dance is forbidden to outsiders, photographers or artists.

Looking back, I would say this image was the 'cross-over' point to 'unexplainable' collaborations.
